december 14-18 newsletter

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We had a busy week last week with practicing for our program, making Christmas crafts, and learning!

This week (December 14- December 18) in Bible we are going to learn about the Birth of Jesus. We will review bible verse John 3:16. There will NOT be an assessment this week.

In Phonics this week we are going to be reviewing. I will also begin to assess students for their 2nd 9 weeks report cards. I will be assessing recognition and comprehension of consonants: m, s, c, h, and d.

This week in Numbers we are reviewing 1-10 and counting to 30. I will be assessing students for their report cards on numbers 8, 9, and 10 and counting to 20.

– There will be NO show and tell this week!

– Our class Christmas Party is this Thursday, December 17 at 2:30. We will be doing a gift exchange at the party. Boys bring a boy gift and girls bring a girl gift. ALL gifts are due by this Wednesday December 16 and should be wrapped and labeled with who it is from. A letter was sent home last week with details regarding the party and the gift exchange.

– The school Christmas Program is this Friday, December 18 at 9:00. Students should come to school in Christmas DRESS clothes that day. NO UNIFORM! Also, dismissal follows the program and there will not be aftercare.

– Christmas Holidays are December 21- January 1. School resumes Monday, January 4, 2015. I hope y’all have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!





Upcoming Events in Pre-K4

This week is going to be a busy and fun week in Pre-K 4!

Thursday, December 17, is our class Christmas Party at 2:30. The class will be exchanging gifts! Girls should bring one girl gift and boys should bring one boy gift. Please make sure the gifts costs no more than $5.00, it is WRAPPED, and signed (for example: To: My Friend, From: Mrs. Megan). I have done this for the past few years and it is so much fun for the kids! You can start sending the wrapped gifts to school as you purchase them. Gifts are due NO later than WEDNESDAY, December 16. If you do not send a gift your child may not participate in the gift exchange.

Friday, December 18, is the school Christmas Program at 9:00 am in the church. All are welcome! 🙂 Preschool performs first so please do not be late! Pre-K 4 has been practicing and will be singing a song on the stage! Please send your child dressed in church clothes (dresses for girls and dress shirts with pants  for boys). Please NO jeans and NO SCHOOL UNIFORM on this day!! Children may leave with you after the program. If not, your child must be picked up by 12:00. There will be NO aftercare on this day!

december 7-11

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We had a great time in school last week and the students loved shopping for you and their families at the Holiday Boutique!

This week (December 7- December 11) in Bible we are going to learn about Daniel and the Lions Den and Queen Esther. Our memory verse is John 3:16. I will assess the students on Friday, December 11.

In Phonics this week we are learning the consonant G. G is for gift, garden, and groceries. Capital G looks like a big circle, and you have to open the gate to get in. Little g looks like a ball with a fish hook. We will also be reviewing blend ladders!

This week in Numbers we are reviewing 1-9 and learning about the concept of 10. We will be counting to 20.
